US-based sellers who send items using USPS can create shipping labels on Discogs. For instructions on how to create a shipping label, please review this page: How To Buy & Print Shipping Labels. When purchasing a shipping label, please fill out the form as completely as possible.
- While the Harmonization Code field is listed as optional, the EU will reject shipments that do not include the HS Tariff code. The HS Tariff code is a unique number associated with certain products, such as “phonograph records” or “CDs”. You must find the product and code that is best associated with your order. For more information and to find your necessary HS Tariff Codes, please click here.
- Further, please note that some countries are also known to reject shipments with vague descriptions, such as “merchandise” or “record”. Be sure to be as descriptive as possible, for example, “vinyl record Beatles Abbey Road”.

Purchasing Shipping Labels
Sellers based in the US can buy postage from the USPS and print shipping labels directly through the Discogs website.
To purchase domestic or international postage for an order you have received:

Select your order
Navigate to the order page for which you would like to purchase a shipping label. Then, select the “Buy Shipping Label” button on the right side of the order page. -
Register your account
If this is your first time purchasing shipping labels through Discogs, you will be prompted to register an account with our trusted partner ShipEngine. You will only need to provide your email, shipping address, and payment method once upfront. -
Review your order details
Discogs will pull in the order details to generate your shipping label. Take a moment to review the information. -
Select your shipping carrier and cost
Based on the destination and size of your order, options for shipping will be calculated. Compare prices between and select the service that makes the most sense for you. -
Pay for the shipping
Click "Purchase Now" to confirm payment. -
Print the label
Use your printer to create the shipping label or save it as a PDF to print at another location. -
Complete Your Order
Place your shipping label on the package, then drop it off at your local post office or shipping provider. Both you and your customer can view the tracking information through the order page. If needed, you can also void a label.
You can review and manage shipping labels that you have purchased through Discogs by going to an order page and clicking the "View Or Cancel Shipping Labels" button.

How to Cancel / Void a Shipping Label
If you need to cancel postage that you have already paid for through the site, follow these steps to receive your refund:

Navigate to the My Labels page.

Click View Label Options

Under Shipping Summary, click Void Label.

Confirm void
Please note:

Voiding a label will send an automatic refund request to the carrier.

USPS labels can be voided within 28 days of the label purchase date.

Shipping Label FAQs
This is my first time printing shipping labels through Discogs. What do I need to know?
When you first go to create a shipping label from an order page, you will be prompted to register an account with our trusted partner ShipEngine. You will then be asked to provide your email, shipping address, and payment method once upfront.
How do I pay for shipping labels?
Shipping labels can only be purchased using a credit card. First, add funds to your ShipEngine account using a credit card. These funds will be used to pay for each shipping label purchase. There is USD $10 minimum for your ShipEngine funds.
How do I void a label that was purchased before March 18, 2025 and request a new one?
- Once the new system is available on March 18, 2025, you can still void shipping labels purchased through the previous system, if needed.
- View your most recent shipping labels purchased prior to March 18. From there, you can void the old shipping labels.
- If you need to print a new label for the same order, navigate back to the order page and select “Buy a Shipping Label.” Follow the steps to generate a shipping label using the new system.
I created a shipping label using the previous system before March 18, 2025 and already shipped the item. How do I ensure my customer has the tracking number generated from the previous system?
Any tracking number generated from the previous system will be removed from the shipping box on the order page once the new system is available on March 18, 2025.
To avoid losing your active tracking numbers, we suggest you start adding them to each order timeline now. When you update the order status to “Shipped,” you will receive a prompt to add a tracking number. Copy and paste the tracking number and it will be accessible by both you and the customer.
Although tracking numbers generated by the previous system will not be accessible on the order page, you will temporarily be able to view shipping labels purchased prior to March 18.
Can I purchase labels to send internationally?
International shipments will go to a domestic address first. These packages are consolidated at a warehouse for more efficient delivery and costs. Items should be shipped to your closest GlobalPost Shipping Center.
GlobalPost sorts and processes your package upon receipt. Using a proprietary package identifier, they apply the required international shipping labels and customs forms to your package and deliver it to the USPS International Service Center for delivery. Once your package clears customs, the Foreign Post Office delivers your package to the buyer.
