How Can I Manage My Inventory?

Old Version

There are several ways to manage your inventory. This document covers how to do so from the Inventory page directly. If you would like to learn how to list items for sale, please review either our How To Sell Music or Quicklister help documents. If you would like to learn how to make bulk changes to your inventory using a .csv file, please review our Bulk Upload Feature help document.

To manage your inventory from the Inventory page, click on the small down arrow next to "Marketplace" in the site header, and select the Inventory link under the Sell Music section of the menu.

How to update your currently listed items

Select the checkbox next to the items to be updated. To select all items on the page click on the 2018-12-19_12-17-40.jpg at the top of that column.

Please note: A yellow banner will be shown to confirm you have selected all items on the page. You then have an additional option to select all items in your inventory. This replaces the old "with entire inventory" section.

Once you have selected the items you intend to manage, select the action you would like to perform on the selected items:

      1. Update Status
      2. Edit Details
      3. Change Prices
      4. Delete - Completely removes the selected items from your inventory and the Marketplace.
      5. Relist Sold Items

Update Status

The selected items can be updated to Draft, For Sale or Expired. You'll see a green banner at the bottom of the page confirming this action has been taken.

Edit Details

Here you can edit for a single item, multiple items or the whole inventory. You can modify private information such notes, items weight and an item's status.

You can also modify publicly viewable information such as Condition, Comments, Make an Offer and Quantity.

Once you’ve entered your desired action, select Next and you'll be prompted to review the changes and Save. Please note: It can take up to 15 minutes for changes to be reflected depending on the inventory size.

Changes Prices

Prices can be increased or decreased by a specific percentage or amount. This action will update all selected items.

Once you’ve entered your desired action, select the “Updates Prices” button below. This action will take a few seconds, depending on the amount of items you have in your inventory.

Remember that if you have adjusted your prices by a percentage, and if you want to go back to the original price, you will need to recalculate the correct % to apply. For example, if the original price is $100 and you provide a 15% discount, the new price will be $85. To bring it back to $100, you will need to apply a 17.65% increase (100 / 85 = 1.1765).

Note : The listing date will be updated to the date that you relist your inventory. This can occur when the inventory is back from a temporary offline period or after a marketplace suspension. If you have trouble working with the new listing dates, we suggest sorting your inventory by Location notes and/or the Private comments.

Delete

This completely removes the selecting items from the Marketplace and your inventory. We recommend only taking this action when you are certain the listing will no longer be required.

Relist Sold Items

Quickly moves items from the sold status to For Sale.

How to filter your items for sale by status

You can filter your items for sale by status using the Status dropdown menu on the right side of the page. Here is a breakdown of the different item statuses:

  • Draft - Items can be listed as "Draft" by clicking the "Unlist" button. Drafts can be edited, but are not available for sale on the Marketplace. Drafts can be listed on the Marketplace by clicking the "Mark for Sale" button. You may also click next to the listing to highlight it, then choose "Delete".
  • Expired - Items marked as "Expired" have been manually suspended from sale in the Marketplace, using the Expire all For Sale Items option.
  • For Sale - These items are currently listed for active sale in your marketplace.
  • Pending - From time to time, Discogs rolls out a mandatory product update which sellers must manually adopt. Another reason could be that the Discogs Marketplace may no longer be available in your region. Lastly, please note that a temporary hold period will be put in place for new sellers to ensure the integrity and intent of all new accounts. For more information, please review Why Are My Items Showing As "Pending” In My Inventory?
  • Violation - Items marked as "Violation" have been reported by other users as violating some part of listing guidelines. Guidelines on common reasons for listing violations can be found under Listing Violations.
  • Suspended - When items are marked as "Suspended," it means that your account has been suspended and all items are currently removed from the Marketplace. You may need to contact Discogs Support by filing a support request to discuss the suspension.
  • Sold - These items have been sold through your marketplace. You can click next to the listing to highlight, then choose "Delete."
