Release Protection In The Discogs Database

In some circumstances, certain releases may need to be protected from modification. Releases can be edit-protected by staff when a specific damaging event has been identified that can not be prevented through other means.

A release that is edit-protected is locked from changes, including release edits, image edits, merge requests, and removal requests. Edit-protected releases can still be edited by Discogs staff and Discogs voters.

If you encounter an edit-protected release that requires changes, please discuss with the Discogs community in the Database Forum, so that voters can assist.
