Shipping Policy Glossary
Shipping policy editor |
Discogs settings page is. Enter your shipping policy here. |
Shipping policy |
One of the shipping settings and shipping methods (see below) for a specific country, region, or group of countries (for example, you can set a single policy for Europe or Asia). |
shipment method |
A single service type (see below) listed in the shipping policy. Key elements of shipping methods include details and contracts for shipping services, applicable formats, and costs per item or weight range. |
Complete policy |
To complete the policy setup, "All Items" is selected, the "Order Subtotal" value is 0, and the final charge range is "or more" for all orders. The condition is that you can cover the size. |
Incomplete policy |
If the shipping policy does not include a shipping method that has been set up as described above, the policy will be considered incomplete and will be invalid. In this case, buyers in the target country and in groups that include multiple countries will not be able to purchase your product. A red banner informs you that the policy is incomplete . |
Service type |
When setting the method, you can choose from three service types: Economy, Standard and Express. This will appear in the Ship from pop-up at the time the buyer checks out, along with the customer-defined service name (see below) and all shipping charges. |
Service name |
In free text field format, you can label your shipping method with the service provider's name and specific method details (eg USPS, DHL, Media Mail, Royal Mail First Class, etc.). |
Format selection |
An option to set the shipping method that applies to one or more formats, such as (large) records, (small) records, CDs, cassettes, DVDs / Blu-rays, etc. Select All Items to apply the shipping method specified for all of these and other formats. Note: To complete the shipping policy, it must contain at least one shipping method selected in All Items. |
Weight / quantity selector |
Set the range and price of applicable shipping methods, either by weight (gram) or quantity (quantity). |
"Shipment source" pop-up |
Click "From" at the top of the seller profile to see the seller's (or yourself) shipping policy. By default, the shipping charges set by the seller for your country are displayed. You can select a country from the menu to see rates for any region. |
Picking up at a local store |
This option allows the buyer to pay for the item in the order and receive the item at your store or anywhere. It is displayed in the form of a check box when setting additional shipping methods. Note: Shipping methods that only offer local store pick- up are considered incomplete . Unfortunately, we cannot only offer local store pick-up without postal options. |
free shipping |
It is an option to get free shipping when the purchaser's order amount exceeds a certain amount. It can be adjusted for each country or region policy. |
Or more |
A shipping method setting used in combination with "uniform" or "every addition" (see below) to cover all order sizes. In order to complete the policy setting, it is necessary to set the method whose name ends with "or more". |
Flat rate |
By using this as one of the shipping method settings in combination with "or more", you can apply a flat rate for orders over a certain quantity and weight range. |
Every addition |
One of the shipping method settings, when used in combination with "or more", will allow you to apply an incremental charge each time you add an item or weight beyond a certain quantity or weight range. |
Delivery charge |
It is the amount selected as the shipping fee. Includes postal service charges and packaging materials, additional insurance, tracking services, and other incidental costs you want to offset. |
