Every listing in your inventory has a status that controls whether it's for sale and what you can do with it. There are seven.
Which statuses can I set myself?
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| For Sale | Live and available to buy in our Marketplace. |
| Draft | Unlisted: saved but not visible to buyers. Use it to hold an item or prepare it before it goes live. |
| Expired | Temporarily taken off our Marketplace by you, for example when you're away (see "Take Your Inventory Offline"). |
You can set these three yourself, on one listing or in bulk, using Update Status in the action bar (or Edit Details, then Update Status). You can also bring an item in as Draft when importing a CSV (see "Import and Export Your Inventory (CSV)").
Which statuses does Discogs set automatically?

| Pending | A temporary hold, usually a new-seller review, an outstanding setup step, or our Marketplace being unavailable in your region. | See "Why Are My Items Showing as Pending?" |
| Violation | A listing was reported as breaking listing guidelines and is hidden from our Marketplace. | See "What Is a Listing Violation?" |
| Sold | The item sold through our Marketplace. This is a final state. | To sell another copy, see "Relist Items." |
You can't set Pending, Violation, or Sold yourself: they're applied automatically.
How do I change a status?
- Select the listing(s)
- Select Update Status
- Choose For Sale, Draft, or Expired from the drop down menu
- Click Update Item(s) to confirm
If you have many listings to be updated it's best to filter the results first to make selecting all easier.
